Role of the NSGCCE in skin research

The Nottingham Support Group for Carers of Children with Eczema plays a role in eczema research. Some of its patient/carer members have taken part in the research and development of guidelines and studies, while doctors and nurses linked to the Group are active in carrying out eczema research.

Why patient and carer views are important for research

Research takes time and money. The Nottingham Support Group for Carers of Children with Eczema wants to ensure that these resources are well used when it comes to any eczema research.   • Skin research patient panel: the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology runs training events for patient who would like to help with the design and conduct of skin research
  • INVOLVE: supports patient and public involvement in NHS research
  • Patient Involvement: provides details of patient involvement in the National Institute for Health Research
