Families with Bumps to Pre-School age children Set to have Fun at the Fayre !

 

Or ‘ALL THE FUN AT THE NOTTINGHAM BABY FAYRE’

 

Two local mums have taken it upon themselves to bring together most aspects of raising a child from pregnancy through to pre-school age in the first ever ‘ Nottingham Baby Fayre’ and to raise money for the Nottingham Neo-natal units at the same time.

 

The Nottingham Baby Fayre being held on Sunday 26th June 2011 – 10am-4pm at the new ‘state of the art’ venue – The Bulwell Academy, Bulwell, is set to be a fun packed as well as informative family day out.

 

From their own experiences and from speaking to other parents – Alesea and Michelle realised that many families struggle to find help & support when they need it most, or to find advice from experts when shopping for those crucial items in those early years of parenthood – due to current funding issues this has all become even harder.

 

In their research, they discovered MANY up and coming Nottinghamshire based businesses and wanted to ensure that their Baby Fayre would showcase what is available to families on their own doorsteps.

 

“We have worked hard over the last 2 years to bring together as many Nottinghamshire based businesses, activity groups, services and support groups as possible to truly celebrate what Nottingham has to offer families with young children”.

 

The day is being opened by Jo Tantum – Baby Sleep Specialist, who has appeared on televisions slots such as GMTV; ITV’s Baby House; Richard and Judy; countless radio shows and in most major newspapers. She also writes a column every month for Prima Baby Magazine and appears as a guest speaker at all the Clarion Baby Shows.  Peppa Piggle will also be there at the opening to meet and greet. There are fantastic goody bags for the first 200 visitors* and pamper goody bags for the first 50 to book treatments in our pamper area, along with Special Show offers for those arriving between 10 – 11 am.

 

“ We wanted to appeal to the whole family so have ensured that there is lots to keep children entertained while the adults can shop, try things and chat to exhibitors’

 

The day also includes demonstrations and talks as well as information and taster activity sessions. There is a soft play area for under 3s – White Post Farm petting corner, a Bouncy castle and craft activities to keep the older children interested.

 

As well as all of this entry price includes 2 for 1 vouchers to ‘Oceans of Fun’, 1 entry into the prize draw with fantastic prizes and entry to see Johnny and the Raindrops who will be playing live and entertaining the young ones with their singing and dancing.

 

All this under one roof AND a Pamper Area with crèche facilities for all tired parents and grandparents to experience therapies and help them to relax, there is no excuse – not to take that precious time out whatever the weather.

 

Proceeds from the event will be going towards purchasing equipment for the Nottingham Neo- Natal Units at both Queens and City Hospitals – Alesea stated that “If the money we raise can help to save a child's life and better the chances and health of others we can truly be proud of ourselves”

 

When asked about plans for the future – Michelle says “We hope for the Nottingham Baby Fayre to become an annual celebration of what Nottingham and its’ families have to offer and aim to continue our work throughout the year with smaller events, activities and training in local areas – by working with all the different organisations and individuals we believe that together we can help improve and attract more of what is needed into our individual communities”
